ABOUT ME

Hey I’m Claire! I'm a proud second generation Mexican-American woman, born and raised right outside of San Francisco, but for as long as I can remember I’ve had my sites set on living and performing in New York City! My life has always revolved around performing. It all began with dancing competitive hip hop when I was 9 years old. I danced competitively for the next 12 years, traveling all throughout the country.

Soon after discovering my love for dance, I combined it with my love for singing and acting and became immersed in school and local theatre throughout middle school and high school. I also began to look into a more creative side and began to choreograph for my show choir after becoming dance caption. It was a new passion I was eager to explore.

I’ve recently graduated from Manhattan School of Music with a B.M. in Musical Theatre. During my time at MSM, alongside performing, I’ve continued to explore some of the behind the scenes to the creative process. Last spring I Co-Directed my first show, Night of Color, to shine a light on all the incredible diversity in MSM's program, which will now continue as a new tradition. I’m passionate about raising awareness to the importance of Diversity and making sure everyone is welcomed in not only the theatre community, but the world. This past year I also had the amazing opportunity to Assistant Direct, Sunday in the Park with George, alongside Don Stephenson. What I've discovered, is that I love every part of creating a show that an audience loves and is moved by.
